“This podcast eased my transition into Al Anon last November when I decided to try out the recommended six meetings before I made a commitment to the program. I was able to listen to a variety of perspectives on the program and personal stories in the comfort and privacy of my home, my walks, my car--wherever I could plug in my earbuds. It really is like a meeting in your pocket! It's perfect for someone who is shy like me, and would like to listen a lot before contributing to a fellowship.
As I've gotten more involved in Al Anon, (I go to a regular weekly meeting and now have a sponsor--hurray!) the podcast is still a constant in my week. Sometimes I want to hear what Spencer and co hosts are up to in recent episodes, and other times I use the topic search on website to find a thoughtful discussion on an experience or aspect of the program or steps I need insight on. This is an excellent podcast with an organized format of discussion around the topic then updates on host and co-host's past week in recovery. The second part really helps me understand that the ways people implement recovery into their schedules vary, and that respecting individual differences is key to our recovery!
