"Ideologically possessed"
In the words of Jordan Peterson, these guys are ideologically possessed. When guests talk to Roman, they're not talking to Roman, they're talking to "Anarchism". They never interact with their guests in a good-faith exploration of the guest's ideas - they're always jumping in and interrupting, hammering on the same old points that they make episode after episode, often points that are irrellevant or only tangentially related to the current topic under discussion, much to the guest's annoyance. This is the ideological possession taking hold. I think they see each encounter as an us vs. the guest "debate" even though they barely do more than snarkily repeat the current mainstream doomsday opinions with an "I told you so" holier-than-thou tone. Each episode is peppered with inappropriate "jokes" that I'm sure are intended to come off "edgy" and "look at us and our free speech!" but fall totally flat and induce much cringing on the part of the listener. I can only bring myself to occasionally listen because of the great guests they manage to get. But then I hear a brilliant economist with the experience and wisdom of Mike Schussler, get arrogantly blustered at by Roman and I just want to throw my phone out the window. Guys, do better. South Africa really needs a good podcast with the calibre of guests that you get on the show, but you're enjoying popularity due to an absolute dearth of competition. Do much, much, MUCH better research before you get your guest on, talk to your guests and understand and explore their ideas more, ask questions that are not just aimed at buttressing your own narrow agenda, stop interrupting, stop going on tirades / rants about your own nutcase anarchist ideology, it's just dumb. Do much better.Read full review »

Curse these two, I WAS going to start the first libertarian/classically liberal podcast about South Africa but it looks like I'll have to come in 2nd, 3rd, or whatever, haha. Fantastic podcast, great guests, basking in them ideas. ZA needs all the voices for liberty it can get right now. Superb.Read full review »
