Engaging historical spin off
If ‘We Have Ways’ is the Cheers of podcasts, then this podcast must be its Frasier. Just like Frasier Crane, Tom Holland had a bit part on the original series but was eclipsed by the witty banter of Cliff and Norm. So he’s partnered up with fellow historian Dominic Sandbrook, who I guess must be Roz(?), and started this historical debate pod. Like Frasier, it’s more cerebral than the original series but no less engaging, attempting to tackle every corner of history from Nero to Princess Diana in just the first few episodes. Hopefully they’ll look to expand the scope with some discussions with other historians and maybe a visit to a museum to ‘walk the ground’. Was soll ich nicht mögen?

Poor audio quality. Interesting enough but the discussions and style have an out-of-touch quality to them, as if the presenters are stuck in the year 1995 or so.

Not really waffling, but nice to here it doesn’t confuse you more! Love listening!

Based on the Brexit episode, a really fun but also insightful ramble through Britain’s previous “Brexits”. The relationship between Britain and France made me laugh out loud which is unusual for a podcast on History!
