Tom is a saint and Dom a hero. I’ve listened to every history podcast I can find and nothing compares to these two. They truly make listening fun and when they start selling shirts I’ll be the first buy one.

Have recommended to a zillion chums. They’re very good at acknowledging the emotion of history (there’s always a side or a person you’re rooting for) - while acknowledging this and pointing to imperialist and nationalist nonsense that’s been handed down as ‘history’. As a former TV Producer, I...Read full review »

I had this in my library for over a year but always played politics shows if I had time. I saw Dominic on the US election TRIP show and he was so impressive I thought I’d give the show a try. Just finished the US 1968 series and it was great! Now I’m delighted to have so much content to go...Read full review »

I never could fully grab onto the storyline, and the series's are so freaking long, each episode an hour long too. It's just not for me I guess!Read full review »

Cannot recommend this highly enough for people who absolutely love history or have a passing interest

Have enjoyed this podcast immensely, and the level-headed approach. But comparing George Wallace to Donald Trump and the description starting with words about segregation is pathetic and egregious. Seriously, can you please have a dislike for Trump without falsely comparing him to...Read full review »

I should have clicked on this earlier. Why didn’t I? Phenomenal detail, contextually varied and a pinch of well timed, light hearted commentary. I guess now I have a whole back catalogue of episodes to listen to on the commute. Hooked.

You can’t change history to fit a narrative you want to mold into you’re current politics. This happens way too much with these hosts. It discredits the whole podcast. Unlistenable.

Learning so much about world history through your brilliant story telling. Also love your side chats and opinions. Well done.

I am really loving the America 68 series but part 5 has disappeared for non subscribers. When will it be released?

Literally a life changer. Listening while walking is a huge incentive to keep fit in advanced middle age (ie over 70) . You are in great company and time flies as you get your daily 10000 paces in. Could there be a discount on membership for pensioners? Anyway, thanks for all your hard work and...Read full review »

You remember it was the Dems who were slaveowners and fought against equal rights, right? And that liberals are playing identity politics in the 21st century - just like Wallace - and hosting race centric events at the exclusion of other races, and encouraging bracelets to now “identify” if...Read full review »

There is a reason this is the best history podcast on the planet. Tom and Dom have great chemistry and their in-depth and passionate storytelling is impossible to turn off. The self-deprecating and sarcasm are keys to my enjoyment.

I find it very disruptive that the two keep talking over each other. Interrupting is OK, but both of them blindly talking on over each other!

How can you compare Trump to George Wallace?! 😆
TheRomanTexan via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/07/24
This is probably the single greatest episode I’ve heard. Wallace’s rise and tactics perfectly explain the US election landscape today.

In 1968 I was working for the peace campaign and was present in Chicago. I was pleased when someone brought this podcast to my attention and listened to it. It is poor. Got to be honest - completely turned off by the lads backing the official story of the JFK assassination. So, so disappointing, must do better.

A Morecambe and Wise for the 21st Century, delivered through the medium of history. Special mention for the splendid contributions of Tabby who should certainly be given more air time

Just google their work outside of the podcast. Dismal. Uninspired. Bigots. Anti-LGBTQ. Transphobic. Disappointing on every level. Hope they are cancelled and I never have to come across a poorly written Daily Mail article ever again. Get over yourselves. Such bias in these history episodes —...Read full review »

I was 16 when Robert Kennady died , i had a real interest in US politics and was particularly effected by his death , for exactly the reason that the both of you articulated so well . As much as I enjoy the episodes, it’s incredibly frustrating to be cut off mid series, and made to wait months to a year to hear the ending. Is this done intentionally to bait listeners with a cliffhanger? I don’t believe this is really necessary and just an incredibly annoying tactic. Just...Read full review »

Just wanted to say what a beautiful and moving episode this was. Dominic’s storytelling and eye for detail combine with Tom’s perspective of religious themes and traditions perfectly. I think this is their best series yet.
