I absolutely love this show, especially when it comes to US history. It’s great to hear an outside honest perspective and these two are soooo British, it constantly makes me laugh.

Epic history and cheeky humor. What more could you ask for?

Nothing like listening to a pair of top British chaps discussing history and bashing the French. 5 stars

I’m quite selective with which episodes I listen to. Most are interesting and I quite happily speed through those that hold no appeal.

As a fan of the subject, I absolutely love these. A mix of info and comedy is the way to go.

This is one of my favourite Pods. You clearly research the subjects you cover with professionalism and deliver each episode with accuracy and humour. Keep up the good work Chaps and the amusing voices. Clive from Devon, England.

Very anglocentric. Just listened to an hour on Dragons and not a mention of Y Ddraig goch. There were passing references to Rome and the Tudors, but nothing on the only country that wears its dragon lore on its national flag. No Maximus, Cadwaladr or Mabinogion Llydd and Llefelys. What a missed...Read full review »

I’ve arrived inexcusably late to this Podcast but now have the good fortune of binging the back catalogue. The multi part series on Sir Nigel is a real highlight. Proper lad!

I love history and I love to laugh, this show does the trick on both.

Great podcast. I enjoyed the earlier episodes that were more overviews but I really appreciate how the later episodes have gone into more detail on the topics. After having listened to certain episodes, I will say that I have then gone out and bought the book(s)!

For lovers of history this podcast is a must. Tom and Dominic are knollwledgeable and funny which makes it listen to them a delight. They complement each other well. Usually one of them is more knowledgeable in a topic but the other then brings up interesting questions and puts the topic in...Read full review »

I thought I knew a little history and it turns out I was right… I know very little. Being 73 years old I grew up when Americans made few mistakes ( at least historically). I wish our schools could listen to your podcasts but we seem to be heading in the opposite direction. Our history is either...Read full review »

I certainly want to listen to the rest of Rubicon. However, Audible only has this title in Italian. They have other titles by Tom.

So enjoy this podcast. Love how Tom and Dominic bounce off each other. Just bought the book for my father.

Honestly. Thanks.

I truly appreciate the witty but well researched episodes on Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Custer and their dramatic contemporaries, their world. A panoramic but detailed vision. My complaint-the squeamish sense they shrug off true virtue and godliness. Tom and Dominic come close but can’t quite...Read full review »

Love the show and the guests are always fun. The non stop Irish Woman on the “Best Churches” was hilarious to try to keep up with. I particularly enjoyed the history of the space race with Tom Hanks as the special guest. That is worth a re-listen….

These guys are the best. They’re witty and very funny. Their real friendship comes through in the podcast. They give us access to the greatest historians and experts of our time. Listen to these cats and you will belly laugh and learn. Thanks guys for this podcast.

Interesting but did I like the constant levity? Absolutely not acceptable . Found the levity over so many deaths extremely unpleasant. Sad because it was a full of information. Not for one minute did I accept your proposition that the lifestyle of the Lecota undermined the right to them being...Read full review »

I am addicted to history podcasts. I like this one best. They have a different take on history that is witty, informative and fun. No interviewing of authors hawking a new book. Their chemistry moves the cast speedily. It’s enough to make one like the British.

I tell everyone who stands still about this podcast. This has resulted many new fans. It was great to meet Theo and Tabitha on one of your bonuses. Such a talented group. And Tom is great for my faith!!!

I think these two are the best doing history right now. Their British dry humor is matched only by their insight and erudition. I like some other history podcasts out there, but love this one. Give these guys a listen.

While I loved the Custer epic, there was so much laughter between the hots, sometimes obscuring the narrative, that I thought I was missing the point. Quite annoying.

I have always been a big fan of history. Your take on these historical events keeps me coming back to listen to more. Thanks!!

The series on the plight of the Native Americans at the hands of the expansionist United States is outstanding. The episode about Crazy Horse and his death is profoundly moving and the story is told with such enthusiasm for the subject - this is a great piece of work. Thanks.

I loved the series on Custer/Crazy Horse/Sitting Bull. It was very educational and entertaining. I learned a great deal. I also enjoyed the British perspective on the American Civil War. This is a very interesting podcast.

One of my absolute favourite pods . The chemistry between Tom and Dominic is wonderful , the easy non pompous style brings the history vividly to life . And I love the natural humour. Both epic series. Thanks Dominic and Tom. I didn’t think I could get into either , yet couldn’t stop listening to both. Adore this podcast! It’s like being part of a discussion about history with your mates! Accessible, interesting and amusing! Please keep it up! Loving the more deeper dives into subject matters too. I look forward to getting in the car each morning to hear you both!

Great pod. Tom & Dominic’s chemistry pulls through even in the more dry episodes. Loving the deep dives & lengthier series as allows for humorous asides, better storytelling & nuance. The first episode I listened to started with poem of rape read by the hosts with a touch of lightness that gave me a little sick feeling in my stomach, just put me off from listening to more, love history but…..I’m a woman, so….. maybe history is not for me??
