“I really enjoyed your podcast episode from 2006 discussing etiquette for adult dinner parties involving children and dogs. It brought back memories of when my kids were young, and we frequently hosted or attended such gatherings. Your insights into adult-only dinner parties resonated with me, as they were less common during my children's early years. Back then, the kids kept themselves entertained while the adults enjoyed their time together, leading to many indulgent and fun moments.
Jumping to 2024, I recently hosted a party and found it necessary to specify that we couldn't accommodate anyone's dog. This decision was influenced by our three tightly bonded dogs, who aren't easily accepting of other dogs joining their pack. Your remarks about dogs at gatherings made me smile. As a fellow dog lover, I had to send out a note requesting no dogs.
Your conversation with Anthony Bourdain was particularly intriguing, especially as a pescatarian. I could relate to not being able to fully enjoy a tasting menu, but I can assure you, like Anthony mentioned, bacon and sausage wouldn't have been on my plate!
