As the saying goes 'sometimes less is more'
As a long time listener to the old podcast I really wanted to like this. At their worst Rich's shows (old and new) were overly obsessed with celebrities who were only there to plug their lstest 'product' or their 'brand'. Rich would also shy away from asking the 'tough' questions at times. I never understood the fawning over the likes of Ray Lewis for example. However that's another moan for another day. At their best Rich's shows offer a unique perspective on people at unexpected times. The show with Charlie Batch is a good example of this. Chris Law's doggy doo flight is also a podcast classic. Coming back to the new show it is too long at three hours, loads of 'filler' and there just aren't enough hours in the day to listen to it alongside all the other NFL related offerings out there that are, quite frankly, streets ahead of this. I really hope it picks up, but I'm not holding my breath. Rich is spreading himself too thin as his Thursday Night Football schedule doesn't allow him to appear on the show that bears his name on Fridays and, quite frankly, if he can't put in an appearance, it begs the question, 'why should we bother?'Read full review »
