“There's currently some weird blinkered hate across social media for 'Rings of Power' – a loud minority - so it's a joy to come across this podcast, which is insightful and enthusiastic. They watch closely due to this enthusiasm, catching subtle details and themes better than most of my favourite 'episode breakdown' content creators ... and yet these guys get their episodes posted wonderfully fast! These hosts still know how to read narrative tropes and conventions, unlike some of the thoughtless knee-jerk trolls out there. In fact, this podcast sends me back to the episodes with much deeper appreciation (I didn't think that was possible - I'm a big Silmarillion freak, so am loving 'Rings of Power', but John and Derek dig deep and find more gem-filled layers).”Read full review »
