The format for this show was spot on. Thank you for a true crime show that flows as a story instead of hosts bantering back and forth. Could you tell me the lead in song with the mariachi style? Loved it!

This was an incredible story, quite unbelievable, except that it was true! it was also fascinating learning about the history of Guatemala through this true crime lense and I wish more shows were this substantial. My only criticism would be that there was too much recapping and reviewing, I know...Read full review »

I’ve been so bored w American true crime, its exhausting repetition and askew ethical compass. I learned things. Thank you. A+.

Really worth a listen. I thought ha why is there so many episodes but then when he really gets into what the last few episodes are about they’re really important and they really speak truth to the world we live in today. This is the first review I’ve ever written on a podcast you did really great.

This podcast was incredibly well researched, but also narratives with clarity and humor. A stunning work!

This was very well done and fascinating for me as I have lived in Guatemala for the past 20 years. I would love to hear more like this, there is definitely more material to work with here in Guatemala.

Hard to take this pod cast seriously when he clearly has an affinity for the president’s agenda. He undercuts his own impartiality quite a few times and especially in the last episode. Interesting for a while but don’t both

Binged the whole thing on my summer road trip. Highly recommend if you’re looking for true crime with something a little extra.

The cameo from Oscar Isaac was a wonderful touch to a wild story. Well told!

This story is so strange and compelling! I cannot believe it’s true. It really keeps you guessing!

This show Keeps you thinking and asking so many WHY?? I am still curious about everything since this acts or situations are mired in controversy snd corruption. In the end, I do not know WHY and what to believe. Overall, I loved it.

What a thrill of a podcast! Highly recommend!

This is kind of a waste of time. The journalist telling the story gives far too much credibility to people who are obviously lying to him. An episode of scandal is more believable and probably more factual. Do yourself a favor and skip this podcast.

Get someone else to narrate this story. Barely could listen or follow

Loved the podcast, crazy story and well done podcast. The music was great and it really brought Guatemala to life for a listener not familiar with the country.

Entertaining and thorough exploration of such an odd / twisted tale. Loved every second of it! Hope this becomes a TV series!

This is a great podcast, and very intriguing, but am I the only one who saw the end coming completely? Not from the very beginning but from a couple episodes in it just seem pretty clear where it was heading. I won’t give anything away though. That said, it was very entertaining.

What a treat. Mark Twain is quoted saying ”Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities. Truth isn't.” This podcast is a perfect example of the utter bizzarreness of truth. I listened to this as if it was a Gabriel García Márquez novel and...Read full review »

Amazing series. Very riveting. Episode 8 is not working on any platform. It becomes sent at the 13 minute mark. Then stops. Can’t download either. Please fix. Thanks

This podcast is absolutely absorbing listening, the way the events unfold if you’ve never heard of the Rosenberg case is stunning, but I think any listener will be really spellbound. This is that rare podcast that has a complex and surprising story to tell that is deftly woven into the themes of...Read full review »

loved the narration, the build up and the conclusion. the episodes in the middle introduce new characters that remain loose ends.

I am not at all a true crime fan, but this podcast is perfect. It’s well paced, interesting, and the narrator uses historical context to make the story richer. I signed up for Calgary+ just to get the podcast earlier.

The storytelling, narration, distillation of this complex story are incredible. Hard to imagine that such a complex story could be communicated so effectively through a podcast, but Edgar has done it. Bravo and I can’t wait for episode 7! This series single handedly made me a Calvary+ subscriber...Read full review »

I enjoyed that ride the backstories provided. One can tell this podcast was not thrown together, but rather carefully and articulately layered. Great job!

It’s like a Coen Brother’s movie with a crazy cast of characters, but actually true. Oscar Isaac voicing Rosenberg’s video is the icing on the cake! Can’t wait to find out where this is headed!

WOW! This format and production is as close to perfection as it gets. I just binged the first 4 eps and am pained to have to wait for the rest. I may re-listen, just because it's that darn good.Read full review »

There are so many similar stories to tell about the politics in Guatemala. I really hope a similar podcast is made about the Gerardi case. Very well dine. Thank you.

Edgar’s story is a fascinating, nightmarish account of one of the most obscure and convoluted crimes in the history of the world. Poirot, Marple and Holmes can’t light a candle to the darkness of the human mind in this real life murder mystery with the tropics as eerie background!
