Trust and Hillary
Fine and illuminating series of interviews, with one gaping hole concerning HC's use of private email server. After Mark Landler explained why her various explanations do not add up, Mr. Barbaro asked the logical question, why then did she do this. Mr. Landler replied by referring to the evident view of both Bill and Hillary that the rules that apply to ordinary people do not apply to them. True enough, but not responsive to the question unless we are to think that something in Hillary's psyche makes her want to flout rules just for the sake of flouting them. A more likely explanation would seem to relate to her desire to keep the content of her emails completely private, now and forever. This goes directly to the basic question why people don't trust her, because it implies that she has something to hide. And given the possible relation between her position as Sec'y of State and contributions to the Clinton Foundation, maybe she does. Why not just say this?Read full review »

The host tries so hard to be objective the impression one has is of bias. When a guest makes an untrue or dubious comment, the host has an obligation to challenge the assertion with facts.
