Those starting points
Alright. It's a good idea, and could become the go-to podcast for the election. However. Seriously? Much of the mainstream media needs to stop covering Trump as if he's just another, "normal" candidate. Really, truly, literally *nobody* has seen him that way since before he started running, more precisely since Obama's famous "Trump-branded White House" speech. Stop reporting it as a big insight. I mean, what's it going to take? Does he have to actually set fire to something before people stop assuming he could win this? Yes, I get it, the numbers do not reflect his absurdity. But not even Murica holds a majority of masochists and stupid people. And I hear your reason for inviting Gingrich - but again, seriously?? Nobody who is "with Trump" can be expected to say things in touch with reality. I'm sorry, but Gingrich has zero credibility. He does not need to be given yet another platform. Of course, the interview was quite revealing in some ways, but still. Let's move this along. He's a national embarrassment. Every time he opens his mouth, the US reputation abroad suffers. We don't need to hear Gingrich spew more absurdities. Let's hear some voices who don't normally get heard, thanks. Trump is not *in* a rough patch. He's the mother of all rough patches for US politics. As for Mrs. Clinton, she's a woman who dares to fight for power, so people don't "like" her. That's just our embedded misogyny. To even suggest she "also" has problems that are even on the same planet as Trump's is an insult to sanity. Sorry for the rant, but it's really frustrating to listen to more people calmly discussing the mere possibility of Trump being President. He can't be intimidated because he's not in touch with reality. That's the long and the short of it.Read full review »

The best was when Newt admitted that he does not talk to or advice Trump that much. In light of that, all his opinions of a grand Trump turnaround is wishful thinking. His idea that Trump should extend his appeal to south side Chicago black voters was beyond bizarre.

Great content and thoughtful discussions, it adds another aspect to the written election coverage from the Times. A+++

Yes it's the NYT but the political leanings are too apparent. 538 is so popular because it tells both sides.Read full review »
