Could be a good show but the BBC’s neo-Marxism constantly shines through. They are more interested about how science interacts with social justice and the relationship between historical oppressor/oppressed. Typical neo Marxist agenda - the presenters are probably so indoctrinated they don’t...Read full review »

This podcast has been a long term staple for me. Keep up the great work. The two halves marry nicely. The presentation of scientific research and findings is easily understood. The crowd science segment alway gives me a new perspective on how to look at scientific problem.

I usually like the podcast but the last episode was sponsored by Saudi Aramco, one of the biggest science deniers on the planet. This is absolutely appalling. A disgrace. If you think it’s worth taking their money to continue making this programme, then I won’t be part of it, even as just a...Read full review »

A must-listen every week. Love this show. I enjoy this show and learn so much every episode. Thank you. One request please spell Maasai the way the people themselves spell Maasai. Thank you, Asante and Ashe.

Useful for keeping up to date on Covid and climate change but that’s about all. Good content but repetitive.

I listen to mostly plant and insect pc’s so the diversity I hear on BBC is welcomed.

I feel this show repeats too many stories/articles I’ve already heard from the other science podcast shows I listen too weekly. If you only have time for one show then this is for you, unfortunately though, for me, I would wish for more original/exclusive content.

I realize that many prefer to get their science from politicians these days so it’s great to have another science podcast venue.

I will gladly change my review to five stars if I hear 4 episodes that aren’t on COVID-19 and climate change

The content and reporting are great. The show notes would be so much more useful if they included links to publications, preprint, websites, etc.

I was enjoying an episode when it suddenly turned into a racially polarised exercise in how to divide a population by calling them racist in the radio programmes they listen to. This propaganda was delivered twice in one program. Thankyou for selling out our national broadcaster as an eternal...Read full review »

I’d gladly change my rating to five stars after you have 4 episodes in a row that don’t focus on COVID-19 or climate change. There are far too many podcasts in my feed dealing with these 2 issues, please tone it down a bit. The other episodes from this podcast are great.

Such a shame that the interviewer did not ask what percentage of Greenland ice is melting. The answer would be approximately 0.1%, with minimal effect on sea levels. This would have put the scientists data in perspective. Greenland study published in 2020 estimated, by combining 26 individual...Read full review »

A very interesting series that expands your knowledge. The scientific approach, which acknowledges the uncertainties is a good antidote for the “absolute truths” that are put forward by some many commentators everywhere.

What can I say this podcast is perfection, I listen every week. The science in action is such a nice edition to it. I also listen to CBC Quarks and Quirks, they are similar in scope but not in topics or guests so they supplement each other well. But where as CBC naturally focuses on Canada,...Read full review »

One of my favorite times each week is when I have a chance to listen to the BBC Science Hour. The biodiversity episode fails to identify the real cause of the loss in biodiversity. 7-8 billion people will burn through all natural resources, including plants animals and wilderness, in a few generations. I think the microbial biodiversity might delay this or even prevent it. Glad I won’t...Read full review »
