Irl Scot review took 12 minutes to start the podcast. Listened at 1.5x speed just to get through it. Confused & poorly made points of view. A shame as they sound like they could genuinely be funny & could be good for Scottish rugby (for which there is no hope, it’ll get worse from...Read full review »

A weekly hour long discussion of the Scottish game. They can cover a lot of ground - mens, womens, pro teams, and Super 6. Preferred it when "Hands in the ruck" wasn't reserved for Patreons. They tend to be happiest when venting about woke issues - don't expect a nuanced...Read full review »

I'm a regular listener and enjoy the rugby analysis part of the podcast. I do tend to skip past the unnecessarily lengthy, meandering pre-ambles which go on for 10-15mins but that is easy enough to do. One pet peeve is host Cammy Black cramming in his culture war hobby horses, there are...Read full review »

Sorry but it is like listening to two blokes at the pub (and sounds like it - get some better mics and jingles) No real depth to any discussion, the same tripe every week. Add into that their holier than thou views 🤷‍♂️

An enjoyable rugby podcast from a bunch of fans who obviously enjoy rugby and a bit of banter without being dicks about it. It’s neither slick nor professional but who cares. It’s some fans talking about a sport they plainly love and I’d rather that than some bland talking heads or some...Read full review »

From pedestrian sports commentary to vehement mens rights activism. Frightening stuff.

The best of its genre. If you love Mr Kipling’s Jaffa Fingers then you’ll love this podcast.

One of my absolute favorite podcasts, with some of the funniest hosts you can hope to find. They cover everything to do with Scottish rugby, and much more, as well. You can subscribe here for free, or give 'em a few bucks at Patreon.com if you'd like to get all the extras, as well,...Read full review »

A well informed podcast that entertains.

Good laugh and chat on everything surrounding Scottish rugby. Worth paying the extra few £ for the extra content too

Have been a keen listener since 2017, but the content and interest for me has gone downhill in the last few months from what I had rated previously at 5 stars - perhaps not a coincidence since splitting off the patreon section. As an example In the Christmas special we had nearly 4 1/2 minutes of...Read full review »

Basically a bunch of chippy third team rugby geeks decided to make a podcast. Delusional and biased about how good most Glasgow and Scotland players are. Incapable of taking a balanced view especially with regards any English teams or players. They wander into nationalist woke based politics...Read full review »

Have been listening for a while and am really enjoying it especially good for keeping me in touch with Scottish rugby all the way from New Zealand.

Really enjoy listening. In my opinion not just the best Scottish rugby podcast but the most enjoyable rugby podcast going! Never too serious and always get a laugh! The perfect balance. Kept me sane during many a long dire shift. Keep up the great work lads

Have listened to this since the beginning and has almost always been not only at the top of my Rugby Podcast listens but any of my podcast listens. It's funny, rarely takes itself too seriously and the off the wall sense of humour is right up my street. Will involve its audience akin to The...Read full review »

I’ve been listening to this podcast now for around 6 months and rate it very highly. Fantastic insight from the hosts with great knowledge and most importantly banter and rapport. Listening each week has allowed me to increase my knowledge of the game, keep up the excellent work guys.

I dip in now and again. It’s a semi focused ramble through rugby and other bits and bobs. And is a good listen whether Scotland or a Scottish team win or lose

Finally felt able to engage with anything to do with the Scottish rugby team a full six days after the Wales game. Glad I chose to listen to you guys. A very balanced and reasonably upbeat discussion that allowed this particular angry little man let go of all of the rage he’s been bottling up for...Read full review »

Cammy and John offer really thoughtful (and amusing) analysis and insight into Scottish rugby. They are quite long podcasts, so I listen at 1.5x speed - which means that they sound drunk when you revert to normal speed. That said, I am pretty sure that they were actually drunk on one of their...Read full review »

This would be okay if they didn’t constantly talk about how woke they are. I agree with most of their points but please stop talking about how woke you are. Would help if they actually watched the games (which they openly admit to not watching the full games). Stick to any other Scottish rugby...Read full review »

Great pod, as a exiled Scot, it’s a wonderful listen, my family (wife and 5 and 7 year old daughters) are also grateful as I don’t feel the need to talk to them about team selections and possible tactics for the game at the weekend. Always look forward to a good pod!

Great pod - funny, interesting and just woke enough

Consistently superb and insightful coverage. Cammie is one of the most intelligent, thoughtful and erudite voices in Scottish rugby. Stay woke boys.

Really enjoy the pod, covers everything you might need to know about Scottish rugby. If you enjoy land rovers and disliking the poor I’d probably just give it a swerve

This podcast will keep you occupied when you are on your commute or when you are walking the dog. Come for the jingles, stay for the laughs.

I for one enjoy listening to a podcast that is aware of social issues and advocate for inclusivity in the sport.

I always make time to both watch the podcast recording live as well as re-listening it the following morning. My only qualm would be that there is occasionally a very evident Glasgow bias from one of the regular hosts and getting an Edinburgh voice on the podcast would be appreciated (even if...Read full review »

A clutch of woke wankers, talking woke subjects in a woke way. Ear bleeding toxic wokeness.

They are biased, ill informed and the least said about the jingles the better. Often stating they haven’t watch the whole game and then giving their opinions. Not recommended, stick to the Thistle Rugby podcast.

Really enjoyed the Oceans Apart interview with Dan Levy. Absolute travesty how the Pacific Islanders are treated by the Tier 1 unions and World Rugby. Glad that Scotland stand out as being the only one that has treated those islands remotely fairly - even then, that’s like being the tallest...Read full review »

Lads, great show! This is where I come for the detailed analysis of the Scottish game - both club and country that doesn’t get enough attention in other pods I subscribe to South of the Border. In a sphere saturated by Union-sponsored rugby propaganda, or Joe Marlers and James Haskells trying to out-bantz each other, it’s always a highlight of the week to listen to honest, independent voices providing insight into Scottish rugby, the Toony Tombola, and Duncan Weir’s hairdo
isaac_macdonald via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 12/03/20
Great insight and news on all aspects of Scottish rugby. Rambling at times but funny enough. Probably too much chat about pubes.

Great work from the lads on this podcast when it comes to Scottish rugby (it’s a ronseal podcast!). Excellent balance of insight and banter (in roughly equal measure).

Best pod to get all the news and views on Scottish rugby. Great knowledge from all the hosts. One issue however is the sound balance on musical jingles. It's consistenly incredibly loud. Would be great to balance the volume with the rest of the pod. Keep up the great work.Read full review »

If you enjoy Scottish rugby and moralising, this is the place for you. Thing is, I think most people agree with what they’re saying on issues like, say, Exeter chiefs’ branding, but they don’t half go on about it like sociology students trying to out-virtue signal each other for attention.
