In July of 2019 , Veronica Fil, an ex-economist and her husband Shaun Quade, an award-winning chef decided to pack up everything, scrape together their life savings and move from sunny Melbourne, Australia to the US to launch their cheese-free cheese company Grounded Foods. Today, Grounded has over 30 different plant-based cheeses, is backed by Big Idea Ventures, and is one of the hottest alternative dairy companies covered in media outlets across the globe thanks to their innovative dairy-nut-soy-free cheese. Veronica shares more about their journey and how they came up with the idea, what it's like to fundraise during a crisis and how she's kept a positive mindset despite the current situation.
