“Although the personalities involved are interesting , the hosts are not well-prepared. They casually listened to the podcast and it showed in that they got a lot of things wrong. So they based their very decided opinions on misinformation on more than one occasion.
One occasion was truly a giant mistake and they later admitted to that.
It's an interesting podcast if you want to see confirmation bias in action though. Also, there is part of it that is distastesful, although I probably shouldn't complain about anything related to The Onion for being too flip. However, there were multiple times when -- while complaining that Sarah Koenig wasn't being enough of investigative journalist -- all participants entirely lost sight of the fact that a girl was murdered...and they also seem to think a lot of the fall out from that is just fodder for jokes.
They're all bright, talented and funny, but they picked the wrong subject matter here and it's often borderline offensively flip.”Read full review »

“8 minutes into Episode 2 and I'm done. They constantly comment on Koenig's "journalism skills" while their own comments are biased opinions based on the research she has done. How much worse could this podcast get?”Read full review »

2. They have a confirmation bias on their conclusion
3. Any information that doesn't go with their conclusion they dismiss.
...this leads to amazingly bad commentary...”Read full review »
