More excellent reading by Elizabeth - how she characterises the stories with her many accents and voices is just great … she is defiantly our favourite reader by far and we always look forward to listening with her every night … while waiting for the next episode the back catalogue is a great...Read full review »

Truly cannot sleep without this podcast. I have been using it for years now. I would normally give this show five stars. However, I am now unable to listen to Treasure Island in the MIDDLE of the book because the two most recent episodes have been changed to subscriber only. That feels really...Read full review »

The real star of The Sleepy Bookshelf is Elizabeth Grace and her mesmerizing, soft, enchanting, voice ! It is my security blanket! I listen at least 4 times a week. The variety of audiobooks and short stories are certainly diverse and appealing to most . My all time favorite, so far, had been...Read full review »

EDIT; there are a lot of cuts in episode 8 that just cut off what Elizabeth is saying. Even her name is “I’m -bith” and the catch up part had 4 cuts. Just flagging for your team! Original subject: Fantastic - please do all Anne of Green Gables series!! My favorite podcast to fall asleep to -...Read full review »

This podcast used to be great. All of the obnoxious commercials have ruined it. One or two calm commercials would be fine. But many loud overstimulating commercials on a sleep podcast defeat the purpose.

Started with Villette and Elizabeth’s storytelling is so good! The characters voices, especially Polly’s are just as Id imagined. Can’t listen to any other version of Villette now! Plan to listen to many more. Great in the car too in the daytime! Please continue👏👏👏 Love the secret garden too.

I have yet to hear an entire episode of The Sleepy Bookshelf, as I fall asleep so quickly listening to her soothing voice! I had checked out audiobooks from our public library to help me fall asleep, but their voices weren’t always conducive to sleeping, or I’d get too invested in the story. But...Read full review »

I have been listening to this podcast since the very first episode, Elizabeth’s voice is so calming and her voice acting is so good, it seems like there are multiple people talking but it’s really just the narrator. So good, keep up the good work, and personally I think signing up for premium is...Read full review »

Thank you for this podcast! I look forward to sleeping now because I love “reading” these books with you before I sleep. Please consider doing John Steinbeck’s Cannery Row or Travels With Charley. Thanks!

I loved this book and the reading was fantastic it sent me to sleep easily every night. The trouble was I had to listen again during the day to hear the story when I wasn’t likely to fall asleep. Well done

I like the narrator’s voice but the entire point of this podcast is to help one drift off to sleep and in between episodes are the most obnoxious ads which ruin the whole experience.

I only gave four stars because I pay for Slumber Studios premium but occasionally get the version with ads in my feed. Like today/ Elizabeth’s voice is so restful but she also portrays the different characters quite well.

I understand why, but the narration is a bit slow for me - I’ve had to speed it up! Also, the narrator ought to check some pronunciations. Listening to Jane Eyre: St. John is usually pronounced Sin-jun, succour is sukker, etc. Otherwise, it’s made a change from my usually audio books.

This is the podcast I’ve been looking for for a long time. The narrators voice is soothing and soporific and she is an excellent story teller.

Elisabeth portrays all the characters convincingly and somehow balances compelling and calming storytelling . I’m deply grateful for access to classics I’d missed as well as favorites enjoyed anew.

How can this podcast get the listener through part 22 and then require of them to be a subscriber in order to hear part 23? Of 25. Very frustrating.

It’s impossible to just let the podcast play through to the next episode because the ads are SO UNBELIEVABLY LOUD and obnoxious. I wake up every hour during the last 4 hours of 8. As long as I don’t start thinking about real life, then I always go back to sleep within 5 minutes. I like the male voices better. Thank goodness for this app. It has put me to sleep on many restless nights. Sometimes I don’t even get past the recap. Elizabeth has the perfect soothing voice for reading the books. I would hate to meet her in person; I might fall asleep mid conversation.

I’ve been listening since the beginning and I love this podcast. Elizabeth’s voice is so soothing and I couldn’t imagine anyone else telling the stories. For five years now, the only thing that makes me go to bed peacefully is the presence of my girlfriend next to me, and in the weird occasions she’s not here to go to bed with me, i replace her with this podcast. If feeling relaxed and embraced is your thing, 100% recommend

I know “The Great Gatsby” is considered a “masterpiece.” But compared to the works by and about women on the podcast, I think Fitzgerald’s novel seriously pales in comparison. A snoozer actually. I hope Elizabeth sticks with the women. MUCH more rich and nuanced!

I think this is one of the best sleeping podcasts because elizabeths voice is super smooth and relaxing and I love how at the beginning she always say to do somethings with our breathing and to get in a comfortable position so much so that I always end up falling asleep before she starts the book!

This podcast was perfect. The host had a soothing voice and the stories were easy to get lost in.
