Multi-sensory listening ecstasy
I've really enjoyed listening to the Slow Melt Makers podcasts and tasting the chocolate bars right along with the interviewer and each maker. I've subscribed through BeanBarYou in Australia. I've got one more ('Fruition') to listen to and to taste. It's been fun tasting the same chocolate as I listen to the charming interviewer unwrapping, snapping and tasting. We share the same paper-crinkling sounds, the snap, the delicious taste and flavour notes. It feels very immediate (even though I know it isn't!). The discussion about the flavour notes, and the way the flavours develop, has helped me a great deal to also detect the flavours and improve my appreciation of finely made bean-to-bar chocolate. It's not essential to access the actual chocolates but does add wonderfully - listening becomes a multi-sensory experience. Great to have access to the chocolates through Australia's BeanBarYou. Here's hoping that bean-to-bar making and beautifully made origin chocolate starts getting much more consumer traction and appreciation.
