“There is some good stuff in here about how the media works, and regular behind the scenes stories...BUT, you would think journalists would be good at research. But no, we get some bad takes and errors.
Recent episode, talked about Trump's MSG rally. No mention of the racist statements Trump and co-speakers made. But generally Australia media does "sane" wash Trump, so no surprise. (Damo even said he wouldn't vote for either candidate if he was a US citizen, so I assume he would be happy with a Trump presidency, and all that would bring?)
They kept mentioning the election was "on the weekend", it is not.
Other example of basic facts wrong - In a previous episode they were commenting on Brazil, and Hutchy said it was a dictatorship (it is not).
Also generally, their "mates" can do no wrong. Example - Always pumping up AFL caller mates (BT etc), when the general opinion on them from the public, is that most are bad at their job.
Damo having his weekly whinge about - the VRC, Victoria, Melbourne, Fact Checkers (which they could really use for this podcast!), etc...it is all so predictable.
BUT...they do have some good stories and insight into the media.
