“I stumbled upon Betsy's website and fabulous one-pager templates towards the end of the school year. I quickly joined her Facebook group for English teachers and have enjoyed being part of a collegial sounding board/advice/idea group for the past few months. I hadn't listened to her podcast until yesterday, and I am glad I finally did. "The Power of the Writing Makerspace" episode was just the perfect entry point for me because I am teaching a new Practical Writing class this year and already struggling with how to best facilitate the writing and thinking process for my students, so many of whom are not excited about writing or thinking (or at least don't feel confident in their abilities to do so). The idea of the writing makerspace gives me a newfound hope in how to engage the many diverse minds (and hands) in my classroom. I've since listened to a few more episodes, and I like that the podcast gives teachers an overview of a new idea, resource, activity, or pedagogical approach as well as providing at least one other online source (or the name of an expert) for listeners to pursue further.”Read full review »
