“This is quality broadcasting that is more than just a podcast for Spurs fans.
Firstly I have been a Phil Cornwell fan since he appeared with the legendary Anthony H Wilson on a Channel 4 gameshow (circa 1992) called Remote Control (On a complete tangent, any interested podcaster should download the XFM tribute to Tony). His comedy gifts easily transfer to the footballing scene, something he is clearly insanely passionate about. His Ramos/Montana impression has already made me forget about Jol. No mean feat, his take-off of Martin was brilliant… (we had a few chaaaauuuuuuuunces!)
Guests are top drawer: Paul Whitehouse makes a classic appearance, and Matthew Norman’s description of his banishment from The Lane is superb. Martin Jol’s son (pre-sacking) also gives a memorable insight into the backroom shenanigans.
I should probably show my hand and declare that I'm not a Tottenham fan by any stretch of the imagination. I checked this show out because I wasn’t getting enough football every week from The Guardian podcast or Baker and Kelly. I haven’t looked back and this is now probably my favourite of the three.
Why is that? Well, probably because they are having such a shocking season. If Tottenham were gunning (no pun intended) for a Champions League place, or even for mid-table mediocrity, then this podcast might not have the pathos or bathos that transcends mere partisan scarf-waving.
By rights I should be hoping for more hapless performances from Spurs in order to keep the presenters and guests moaning (particularly Mike Leigh – a guy who could stun Abigail at her party to silence with his world-class lamentations), but you know what? These guys are so passionate and so honest that the second result I now look for is to see whether Spurs have won and my third result is to see whether the Woolwich Wanderers have lost…
Adios!”Read full review »

“Thursdays will never be the same, i'd be amazed if there is a better football podcast out there.
I feel inspired to send a petition to the government regarding a request to have AFC sent back Woolwich so Norf London can be cleansed from the rubbish called the Wanderers.”Read full review »
