Clashing Climate Actions: Reckoning with West Virginia vs. EPA and the Inflation Reduction Act
Listen now
Description
2022 was characterized by momentous climate change news in the United States: in the early summer, the Supreme Court dealt a blow to the EPA's ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions. Not long after, Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act, which is widely considered the most meaningful climate legislation this country's history. In the first episode of Season 3, host Hannah Schilling explores the implications of these contrasting events with two UW–Madison faculty members: Corbett Grainger, Associate Professor of Agricultural & Applied Economics, and Howard Schweber, Professor of Political Science.  You can also read our recent article on this same topic on our website: https://sustainability.wisc.edu/progress-after-dismay-a-vertiginous-summer-for-climate-activists/
