“While Disneyland may never be complete and is always changing, it's great that we have voices like Lynn & Ken who document the way things were. The Sweep Spot podcast hosted by two former Disneyland custodian's was just the kind of show I was looking for.
This show just isn't all history, they'll spend about the first quarter hour covering current events about Disney Parks and then move into the main topic. At times the two hosts can almost seem like a comedy act, with Ken offering non-sequiturs while Lynn tries to keep the show on the rails. These two park veterans offer insight into the way the park used to be ran and laid out which makes it a real treat for us fans who were born after the ticket books and Rainbow Cavern mine trains were long gone.
The shows only get better when they invite a guest, another former castmember, on to share their stories and spin yarns about their own personal adventures behind the scenes. Even the most mild Disneyland fan will appreciate the knowledge of the parks practical workings and logistics and even the most die-hard 'know-it-all' fans will learn something new.
If you're like me, what'll happen is you'll listen week to week and then it won't be enough. You'll need more stories to fill the days between shows and luckily these two have also written a book with even greater tales to regale you.
So go on, sit back and enjoy these two distinct voices as they transport you back to the way things were at 1313 Harbor Blvd and the next time you're there you can astound a castmember when you ask, "Hey, is the candy cane still back behind Indiana Jones?"”Read full review »
