A number of the episodes are poorly produced. Though the topics are interesting the content doesn’t feel well thought out with an unbiased analytical mind. It feels like everything has a surface understanding without a lot of depth, and a lot of emotional opinion stating.

Some useful tidbits. More about current affairs and political narrative than history.

This podcast is so, so good! I listen to many podcasts and this is one of my favorite ones. Highly recommend.

I was listening to season 1. To suggest Lennon’s murder was connected to the lives and actions of Eugene O’Neill, his daughter Oona and JD Salinger writing Catcher In The Rye is completely contrived. I didn’t even listen to the episode about Vladimir Lenin. John Lennon was murdered because...Read full review »

Love the episodes but so tired of getting excited about a new episode only to find its a 5min. Advertisement for a new podcast. Couldn’t this be shown as advertising instead of a new episode?

Great thread through history of the fight for equality for women and those who led the way!

Cried at almost every episode about women’s sports. Women’s sports baby!!! I learned so much

Focus on topics that mattero instead your forcing narratives to promote a snarky agenda

Wow!! I never knew how many events in history are related to another event in history. Thank you for making history interesting. I’ve even got my 13 & 15 year old grand children hooked. I’m shocked at the history lessons not being taught in schools.

I liked the first 3 season but season 4 is pretty problematic. Is it so hard to call a rape rape? Why go to all these length to excuse domestic abusers and rapists? I’m still hoping season 5 would be better but comparing episodes on the same topic that other podcasts have done, “You’re Wrong...Read full review »

And I am amazed by the historical threading. We’ll see how I feel about the following seasons, which other seem unimpressed with, but so far I’m a fan!

I just finished the last season on US women’s soccer. As a 57 year old woman, I truly appreciated the history and stories behind all the women and men involved. I got to play on my high school’s first girls’ tennis team and am ever grateful for Title IX. Terrific work. Thanks!

Wasn't sure what to expect with this because I'm not a big soccer fan, but as a sound designer by trade, I'm always curious to hear new shows in genres I don't usually listen to. First off, this is one of the best sounding shows I've heard recently so I'm not sure what the...Read full review »

Liked Season 1 a lot, but haven't been hugely impressed since. However, I was looking forward to the Season 5 launch. The topic is interesting--good potential there. But the sound editing is terrible. The narrator is normal volume, but the interviewees and soundbites--especially the...Read full review »

If you grew up in the 90s you’ll certainly remember the moment when the U.S. women’s team won the World Cup against China. This season takes you inside that journey and so far it’s fascinating and quite emotional!

I remember the Brandi Chastain moment so well but I learned a ton of new things from this podcast! Sean Braswell is so great at weaving together these fascinating stories.

Really excited for season 5. Episode one is dope. Not a sports fan but this is great.

If the first episode is anything to go by, this season’s gonna be super-inspiring. This is calmer than many podcasts, and you feel lik there’s proper thinking in it. Love.

Very good podcast, storyline and narration. For this season, though, you just need to work in your pronunciation of “soccer” Whenever you say soccer it must sound |football| ⚽️ You know 🦶🏻and an actual ⚽️ Practice makes perfect, I know you...Read full review »

The first season was great. You could follow the thread and I really liked it. But the following seasons really had to stretch to find the thread. If they go back and do a “six degrees of separation” type thread, it may get better.

Every season gets worse. The last season is probably my last. E5 is just a repeat of E4, and in spite of everyone telling them about the mistake, it hasn’t been fixed, which shows how much they don’t give a crap. They are just phoning it in now.

Your stretching , the thread often breaks.

Hi everyone, Thread team here. Thank you for listening! We were made aware of the glitch with episode 5 (of season 4) immediately after it was published last week. It appears that you’ve reposted the episode from last week (s4e4) instead of this week’s episode on Francis Scott Key’s son. Maybe my iTunes is malfunctioning- but please check this! The most recent episode has the wrong audio. It’s the same as the last episode - the Standford White Murder is there when it should be about Francis Scott Key’s son.

Thread is such a great podcast series. I loved season one. I’ve long been intrigued about the connection between Salinger’s novel and Chapman shooting Lennon. The subsequent seasons have been almost garbage. And the narrator sounds like he needs a glass of water. The amount of mouth noises is so intense it’s like nails on a chalkboard. Move away from the microphone and speak louder !

I simply love this Podcast. There are people that link to others in the distant past and some I normally wouldn’t have cared to read about. This podcast makes learning about ANYONE from the past interesting. I’d give it 6 stars if I could!
