Good show, have been listening for years mostly for the columnists now. The audio of the actual show is invariably about 4 times louder than the ads that surround it and all other podcasts. Can you turn it down?

I listen daily either live or via the podcast….I love the deep expertise worn lightly!!

Eek. The columnists are good, and some of the more serious political thing, but the “light-hearted” comedy stuff is pretty woeful. Used to be a much listen, but now I generally just listen to columnists bit abs the odd interview. And I don’t automatically download any more. Still, things change,...Read full review »

Can we not get anything in the middle on Gaza ? Either we have this Ali chap and his extreme views or the chap you had on today who was effectively saying about the IDF - “nothing to see here” Disappointed

A must listen every week especially the focus group episodes. Hate the new show picture though - sorry!

Interesting, insightful, refreshingly different and LOL funny. Matt Chorley is brilliant.

Have been a regular listener and enjoyed the podcast for about the last year but honestly have dropped off a bit since you put your mugshot on the cover …. freaks me out a bit ! Can you consider changing it please ?

Matt, love the show but get rid of the bug eyed picture. It’s what Jimmy Savile used to do!

mix of light hearted, informed, serious and funny. Matt Chorley is an effortlessly brilliant politics host / presenter

This used to be a favourite with me, especially the columnists section. Can still be great but tends to cram too much in and ends up giving too little time to guests. With new knowledgeable podcasts like These Times, Red Box now feels too lightweight. Really don’t like the introduction of a...Read full review »

I think MattChorley is completely right.. if Rory Stuart was so dedicated to local democracy he wouldn’t have left it to take the Queens shilling. It’s the usual Trolls who just jump on the band wagon to criticise Matt. keep up the good work Matt and keep debate open. Ignore the Rory Groupies.

I was sickened by Matt’s recent ill-informed very nasty criticism of Rory Stewart. Perhaps it might be an idea to read Rory’s books and take the time to understand the dedication he had to his constituents in Cumbria, his hard work to reduce violence in prisons, his own charity in Afghanistan,...Read full review »

Matthew, stop being so rude about Rory Stewart! You don’t even know the man and it’s not his fault he’s making a lot more money than you, it makes you sound very jealous!
Niky_Noodles via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/08/23
Sneering, uninformed, throw-away comments about Rory Stewart really turned me off. The man has done a lot more for this world than host Matt Chorley.

Love the simpletons they find for the focus group.

Was looking forward to listening to Peter Riddell’s 42 minute interview only to find the first 23 minutes was spent NOT with Mr Riddelll but an innane conversation about the week’s news. Contrary to the episode title hence why I deem this podcast as clickbait

Bring back Patrick McGuire.

David Stubbs episode. Critical of Gervais because he’s old and irrelevant. He’s 61. I don’t think he holds irrelevant views. He’s a comedian. He challenges views. And that’s ok.

Can’t stand the climate denial and lack of seriousness and ambition to deal with and alternative facts. Unsubscribed again although I do enjoy Matt Chorley.

Used to be a Times subscriber but gave it up a few years ago with its Murdoch based bias. Matt is great but most of the others really??? a bunch of very shallow journalists (journalists????) who fail time and time again to report facts. Cant report on Brexit, Boris or Trump rationally or with...Read full review »

I’m mainly leaving a review because Matt Chorley always asks his listeners to - anyhow: I’m a great fan of Mr Chorley and all his works, and listen to this podcast pretty much every day - especially the columnists part, which is always entertaining. I urge you to do the same! Happy, Matt?

Always enjoy the podcast but the Noam Chomsky interview today is a classic. Candidate for political interview of the year. Matt politely and respectfully handed him the rope and he duly hung himself.

Not sure if that’s how his name is spelt but a great podcast nonetheless.

I’m appalled by the sarcastic reviewer who’s “so glad Steve Baker is better now”. For those of us not blessed with the positive mental health that reviewer clearly enjoys, it was an extremely moving and inspirational listen.

Matt just said he would be happy to help terminate all cats?! Honestly, what kinda person are you to be happy to kill someone‘s loved pet?!

Great podcast but I beg to differ - I absolutely loathe Johnson and everything thing he stands for…

Waffly lightweight right-wing discussion between so-so Times columnists in first half, which are best skipped over, followed by more interesting and substantive second half feature/interview(s) which are a good listen.

Matt is outstanding and so are his columnists and guests. I love PMQs in particular. Keen listener from Uruguay

Love the show especially the guest columnists. After Brexit I became obsessed with British politics and this show is a gem.

Kia ora from Aotearoa New Zealand. Hilarious show host who also happens to assemble brilliant journalism into the best political podcast available. Thank you for your comedic charm and truth telling in an ever darker world. Ngā mihi Lindsey

Much depends on the columnists who are on - Aronovitch and Finkelstein consistently good, for instance and I have got used to Matt Chorley’s blokeish delivery - which I quite like. Drop the focus group item - it was awful just now PS. The question by question analysis today of PMQs with Patrick...Read full review »

So interesting and informative. And funny! But the ads are so intrusive and the editing round them is clunky-maybe sort that out?
Curlew1905 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/04/22
Absolutely the best politics podcast (though it does drop a star when Matt’s away). I toyed with the News Agents - but it proved too gimmicky and has less political balance - glad to be back at the leading edge of UK political commentary.
Brian Clegg via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/01/22
Matt Chorley, brings insights into the events and issues around Westminster in an approachable way with the aid of informed guests from across the political spectrum.
