Don’t listen this podcast, if you want some insightful and original analysis; the current hosts are way too chummy with each other, equipping with some secondhand comments and full-on self-indulgence.

Seems a bit flat and plodding, going through the motions of things picked up in the endless opinion pieces now. Also sick to the back teeth of hearing about SSE!!

Used to be great with Matt Chorley but has rather lost its way. Vaizy was a good stand in from time to time but Hugo Rifkind just isn’t as over the detail so there’s not much integration of the serious with the funny as it was with Matt. This is particularly apparent at PMQs. Let’s hope for a...Read full review »

Previously reviewed Matt was starting to do overdo the jocularity - the repetitive 'funny' clips being played was annoying BUT I TAKE IT BACK. Boulton makes Victor Meldrew seem upbeat. Dreadful. Even when hes not rudely interrogating people (which seems to be most of the time) his...Read full review »

It’s a good show to listen to on a dog walk - the guests are great - but it seemed more fun when Matt Chorley was at the helm…

New presenters are ill informed. Allowing conspiracy theories around two-tier policing to be treated as legitimate was the final straw for me.

Until I got to my first Ed Vaizey episode.

I always love Red Box/without the boring bits because it was actually about politics with a slightly lighter touch. This new show seems to have too many human interest/ issue of the day type discussions. Many other shows do this better than the replacement show. Patrick Maguire has been great...Read full review »

5 star under Matt Chorley 1 star under Ed Vaizey.

All respect to the presenters, but the format was ideal for Matt Chorley, a mix of knowledge, focused questioning and humour. Now it's just missing a spark. It's no different to other podcasts about politics. So I'm not really listening to it much.Read full review »

I listened most days until Matt left - since then it’s been such a disappointment, there’s no levity or light heartedness at all, despite continuing effort from the production team to encourage presenters down that route. The tone of the questioning of interviewees is also occasionally aggressive...Read full review »

This was great with Matt Chorley. He made politics funny and interesting. So I’m sad he’s gone. I am now hoping to find Chorley on the BBC Sounds app, when he starts at Radio Five Live.

Really listenable and great guests. Only that stops me giving five stars is how Ed talks over people too often!

This is now politics with the boring bits! Uninspiring- sadly.

When Matt was host this was an utterly brilliant podcast. Sadly Adam is just plain dull, uninspiring and frankly a disastrous choice. You can hear this in the reaction and tone from the normal guest contributors. Sorry you need a new host.

Much depends on the columnists who are on - Aronovitch and Finkelstein consistently good, for instance and I have got used to Matt Chorley’s blokeish delivery - which I quite like. Drop the focus group item - it was awful just now PS. The question by question analysis today of PMQs with Patrick...Read full review »

Very uncomfortable first chat after Matt Chorley. On substance, wonder if it would have been a different discussion in light of Reeves’ speech and the OMB letter. Syed’s comments have not aged well, and it was only a couple of hours.

Used to be a Times subscriber but gave it years ago with its Murdoch based bias. Thought I’d give it another try but Matt has now let his mask slip showing he is a rabid remainiac with Manvene Rana a few more ticks to the left. Journalists are supposed to report on news not their own opinions!...Read full review »

For years now the timings at the bottom of each episode don’t tally to the actual timings as they forget about the adverts. The columnists all agree with each other all the time it’s rather boring

I’ve been listening for the last few years and used to treat it as my middle ground political podcast (between spectator/newstatesman). Genuinely feels like the papers right-wing slant has started to become more obvious, and the overall quality feels a little diluted (I miss Finklevitch; having a...Read full review »

Good show, have been listening for years mostly for the columnists now. The audio of the actual show is invariably about 4 times louder than the ads that surround it and all other podcasts. Can you turn it down?

I listen daily either live or via the podcast….I love the deep expertise worn lightly!!

Eek. The columnists are good, and some of the more serious political thing, but the “light-hearted” comedy stuff is pretty woeful. Used to be a much listen, but now I generally just listen to columnists bit abs the odd interview. And I don’t automatically download any more. Still, things change,...Read full review »

Can we not get anything in the middle on Gaza ? Either we have this Ali chap and his extreme views or the chap you had on today who was effectively saying about the IDF - “nothing to see here” Disappointed

mix of light hearted, informed, serious and funny. Matt Chorley is an effortlessly brilliant politics host / presenter

This used to be a favourite with me, especially the columnists section. Can still be great but tends to cram too much in and ends up giving too little time to guests. I think MattChorley is completely right.. if Rory Stuart was so dedicated to local democracy he wouldn’t have left it to take the Queens shilling. It’s the usual Trolls who just jump on the band wagon to criticise Matt. keep up the good work Matt and keep debate open. Ignore the Rory Groupies.

I was sickened by Matt’s recent ill-informed very nasty criticism of Rory Stewart. Perhaps it might be an idea to read Rory’s books and take the time to understand the dedication he had to his constituents in Cumbria, his hard work to reduce violence in prisons, his own charity in Afghanistan,...Read full review »

Matthew, stop being so rude about Rory Stewart! You don’t even know the man and it’s not his fault he’s making a lot more money than you, it makes you sound very jealous!

Sneering, uninformed, throw-away comments about Rory Stewart really turned me off. The man has done a lot more for this world than host Matt Chorley.

Was looking forward to listening to Peter Riddell’s 42 minute interview only to find the first 23 minutes was spent NOT with Mr Riddelll but an innane conversation about the week’s news. Contrary to the episode title hence why I deem this podcast as clickbait

David Stubbs episode. Critical of Gervais because he’s old and irrelevant. He’s 61. I don’t think he holds irrelevant views. He’s a comedian. He challenges views. And that’s ok.

Can’t stand the climate denial and lack of seriousness and ambition to deal with and alternative facts. Unsubscribed again although I do enjoy Matt Chorley.
