Good job HBO
For the first time in my 40 years of life we are finally seeing big media work with the Iñupiaq community. There are some aspects of the show that are polarizing or extreme, but I suppose that’s the entertainment business. This podcast helps in taking that additional step into communicating the different ideas behind the characters and the show. As a person from the Arctic, I had to watch the show, and listen to the podcast. I am really digging both!

This season of True Detective is actually pretty good. But this podcast…oh man. Maybe instead of using a narrator that “checks the boxes,“ you could find someone that actually has a good narrative voice. Just a thought….

I’m all for a female led crew and cast but where are the “good” men in this show? The majority of the male characters are written to be incompetent, villains, aggressors, or just plain pathetic.
