“Congratulations to Amy’s family, journalists and legal advocates for putting together such a shocking investigation of negligence on the part of WA’s criminal justice institutions. We should all feel terrified knowing that should we be victims of domestic violence, we are unlikely to ever receive justice. I think that is a shocking finding in a rich democracy such as ours. The revelation that the police detectives mistook Amy’s ethnicity for an indigenous woman and hence, they felt entitled to be so neglectful in their investigation, actually made me gasp with horror. The WA police commissioner should hang his head in shame.”
