LOVE this - Aspiring DPs this is for you!
I've only recently discovered this posdcast a week or two ago. I just wish I'd found it sooner! I'm devouring these episodes like there's no tomorrow. Such a great podcast in my opinion - because the opportunity to actually get to watch and learn from DP's in real-world environments are so rare, listening to their insights is the next best thing for me, compared to actually being on set. I'm craving so badly to learn from those above me, this episodic content gets to scratch that itch. I especially like the technical information. I'm a total gear head, so listenening in about camera settings, specs, lenses, etc., is just the icing on the cake. Some of the guest speakers' points end up being very affirming and rewarding when it relates to some of my processes, like how I use my waveform and certain IRE values to expose my shot. When I learned that another DP does it the same way, it's like - "OK - I'm headed down the right path." It's extremely rare to get that kind of pro "feedback" in the real world, so learning that way is the next best thing. Please keep doing what you're doing Pat!Read full review »

I'll encourage you to listen if you want to learn a lot about cinematography. Certainly for a seasoned pro and not the normal intro to filmmaking stuff here.Read full review »
