Well it’s Slate, so it’s pretty white.
I have enjoyed and always appreciate my Slate podcasts, subscribe to most of them and certainly support them in other forms of media. Have my own bits of privilege obviously for even being on here, mixed family, identity, mixed race, etc etc here. I absolutely appreciate the women, and want to find the topics robust or interesting or tolerable to listen to or a fleck of an idea to spin off to get me thinking or speaking or writing but it doesn’t quite get there (anymore at least?). I find myself having to come back to do it in bits just to finish or…perhaps never finish. I absolutely agree with other reviewers as well…in the need for variety, etc. but do find them genuine. It would be nice to identify with them in some way, even for those criticisms it seems other reviewers mention, I am a mum myself. Even with my well-rounded slew of media and of other podcasts by people of color of a variety of feminists feministing to keep me company lately I have found it harder and harder to come back to indulge in the topics…doubleX gabfest is just missing the mark.

Love this podcast. It's informative and entertaining. By far one of my favorites. Sometimes a random parenting podcast from slate downloads and I'm sad I have to wait an entire week.Read full review »
