That VOICE!!
I really love the set-up of Slate's podcasts & the Political Gabfest is def my favorite but this one is also one I make sure to listen to whenever a new one comes out…BUT! What keeps it from 5 stars is the voice of Jessica Grose! &, to the reviewer who said we probably all have vocal ticks, I agree, but we all aren't VOLUNTARILY putting ourselves on an audio podcast! That nasally baby/Valley Girl voice is almost TOO irritating to listen to for any time at all. There have actually been times I've replayed a part over & over for a friend to hear how outrageous it sounds! & she HAS to know what it sounds like! & I'm sorry, but if you had a stutter you'd work w/a coach so you could do a podcast, so come on Slate! Hire a vocal coach ASAP or a new host!!!Read full review »

Three intelligent and funny ladies sitting down every week to discuss entertainment, social trends and current events. Lively, fun and thought provoking. I look forward to this podcast every week. My only frustration is that I can't jump into my ipod and be a part of the conversation!Read full review »
