Quite good but could be so much better
A smart and entertaining podcast that could be a lot smarter and more entertaining given its intelligent participants and meaty topics. Has good ideas, but comes up short on execution, as they are don't go too far beyond their own personal experiences. It does not measure up to other Slate Gabfests I have listened to (most notable the Culture Gabfest) in quality, where they seem to have more depth of knowledge and perspective, even on the relatively trivial topics on the Culture Gabfest. I echo the other reviewers who have said that the younger discussants have irritatingly babyish voices and teenager-y speaking tics, so beware. But like I support their right to speak anyway they like. I don't think a college student should come to class in a mircomini skirt and a belly shirt, but I support her right to do so and not get harassed. Also, by my assessment, they are pretty post-feminist, which might be a little irritating to feminists.Read full review »

This is a excellent podcast with very smart comments on the U.S. and international political scene.
