I’m mighty happy about how my life has gone up to this point. My only real regret is that I didn’t know about this podcast from Frodo until over two years after it began. I was hit hard by the shutdown. I know millions of people had it harder than me. (Probably billions of people, actually—the...Read full review »

Inspiring philosophical musings - sometimes silly, sometimes enlightening and always engaging and enjoyable - I’m always smiling afterwards : )

As I listen to an episode, my mind expands and grows. As I deepen into ideas and Frodo’s soothingly insightful voice guides me towards realizations and uncharted thoughts, I find myself veering a little to the left. I correct myself, and get back between the lines guiding us all safely towards...Read full review »

I sit here in my little flat in Edinburgh. The city I moved to mostly because of the Fringe and the Royal Mile, specifically to get better at street performance. Well, now I too sit here, pondering what next and reaching the conclusion that breathing is probably the thing to keep going. Captain...Read full review »

This like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Mechanics for performers. It is whimsical, delightful, and wonderful. Frodo takes us on a journey of what goes on in his mind before he stands on stage. If you have ever seen Frodo perform live you have witnessed the marvel crafted performance. In his...Read full review »

Such a great podcast on so many levels and coming at a time when I personally feel so disconnected from the show / circus / travelling world that has been my life for more than 20 years and my community that is found there. It is a blessed connection...🙏so thank you! You have always been a...Read full review »

The deepest look at our “low” artform. Inspiring. Many years ago (at the carnival) you and the Happys affirmed my decision to become a street performer. Now you accompany me on the greatest performing challenge I have yet faced. Not performing! Each episode you reveal a new idea of beauty a...Read full review »

It’s curious how profound and serious the life of a performer can be and, of course, they are the first to be affected by any changes in our society as demonstrated by our current crisis.

As we all find out new paths as entertainers it is comforting to hear someone put into words what we are all feeling. I like to listen late at night when everyone else is asleep, I turn off all the lights and let Frodo’s somber tones soothe me in the dark.

I’ve also been a follower of Captain Frodo’s blogs for some time now and seen him live a number of times. His pod is giving voice to the angst of the performers and frustration of those who crave live entertainment. Thoughtful and inspiring. It’s wonderful

Captain Frodo is a light in a dark time for all of us as we navigate the mysterious and unspeakably strange 2020 pandemic, which has changed our lives forever.
