“It's evident that they want to make a dent in the podcast world as evidenced by the fact that they paid Disney voice Brian Summer to do the intro and other various skit segment intros. However the podcast definitely needs a script, or at least a better one as it seems disjointed at times, although occasionally it does have interesting info and insight. There are not a lot of stellar Disney podcasts out there and while an average effort, it is in my top 10.
Professionalism and decency go out the window though with the continual insults hurled at Luke Manning, the young contributer that helms (or helmed as I don't listen to it), the Disneyland News Today Podcast. Here is a young guy who I gather is still a minor who can actually contribute on many levels yet he is ridiculed all the time by host Tom Corless with other cast starting to join in the razzing. Luke, if you are paid for your participation you certainly have a claim to a hostile workplace lawsuit! Tom Corless should know better than to pick on a kid, it's insulting to listen to. Even if Luke takes it in stride and considers it in good fun, to the listening public, it does not come across that way.
If you want to make it to the next level Mr. Corless, act your age, show some respect and professionalism, and work on solidifying a script and better guiding the banter between the myriad participants in your podcast. Until then you are filler when I don't have any of the better podcasts to listen to.”Read full review »
