Stranger than fiction
Joe’s been a skilled historical speaker for years, but this is my favorite of his work: he chooses topics that seem like they can’t have been real and recounts them ridiculously engagingly, with near-equal parts pathos and snark. I spent my school days falling asleep in history class - if Joe had been my teacher, things would have gone differently. Also, temporal causality would have fallen apart since we’re the same age, but whatever.

I was introduced to this podcast by another I listen to (Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-men). The Emu Wars was my first of many listens! Look forward to catching up 😀

I had to unsubscribe based on the hosts personal opinions. I find that most history podcasts are better when the hosts spend more time on history and less on personal political opinions.
