Everyone should listen to this! I have told so many people about it already and encouraged them to listen to it. But even without listening to it, it’s stimulated great discussion and thought provoking ideas.

Really thought provoking, Megan is a great host who covers the topic very openly. Definitely challenged my pre-conceptions on Transgender people, both sides have a strong argument very entertaining interviews. Will ponder this a bit further. 🤔

Wonderful podcast….Ms. Rowling is the epitome of a strong woman

Nuance is so uncomfortable, but the themes of this show were so deeply resonant with me. It’s easy to ignore cancel culture until it breaks up your friend group, or you are suddenly put in a box on the other side from where you really stand because you weren’t quite loyal enough. I appreciate...Read full review »

Actual conversation, everyone was thoughtful especially jk Rowling.

It seems to me that if you don’t understand that those condemning JK Rowlings books bc they are a gateway to witchcraft and those supporting her views on trans rights are the same ppl you have a fundamental blind spot. Framing this as free speech as a free spot on the bingo card of life is also...Read full review »

Whatever your views on this extremely divisive issue, this is a beautiful piece of journalism, nuanced and compassionate throughout.

The beauty of this show is that by the end, I found myself agreeing with *all* of the sides of the story. And it’s a rare & precious art to bring people together. This shows does it.

Wow! Such a well crafted deep dive into an extremely nuanced subject. Everyone (especially the 17 year old who transitioned to a male.) was so succinct and open in their discussions . I think there can be a world where both sides can coexist but people will have to crack open their hearts so they...Read full review »

This is the best conversation I’ve heard since graduating from a liberal arts college. Thank you for giving me hope that the future will be a place where tolerance and freedom of speech thrive.

I was impressed with how Megan looked at both sides and allowed people to actually tell their side without being interrupted or contradicted. It didn’t make me change my mind, but it did give me plenty to think about

This podcast was such a good listen. I respect J.K. and her views and for not backing down or confirming. I respect her for taking care in how she spoke about others. This was not angry. It was beautiful to hear from both sides in a respectful way. Thank you.

I really enjoyed hearing from all of the interviewees who were thoughtfully chosen to participate in as someone recovering from a much less extreme but equally harmful Christian sect, I enjoyed the interviewer’s perspective so much and empathize with her struggle to leave and be on the right side...Read full review »

Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to so many people. I would have liked this podcast to provide factual evidence for JK’s claims I wanted to hear explicit evidence of how she came to her conclusions. Percentages. Facts. Rowling is clearly educated and very intelligent but even after this podcast, I still don’t understand how she has come to the...Read full review »

“The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling” is an insightful and balanced exploration of major social issues like free speech, gender identity, and online polarization. I really appreciate the depth this podcast is able to explore. I’ve known of the controversy, but haven’t had time to dig down to the roots. Being able to hear from both sides —mainly the source, Rowling herself— helps foster a space where the conversation can actually take place.

Expertly crafted podcast! Thoughtfully paced and expansive in too many ways to mention. I’ve deduced that the advent of social media has relegated our society to having collective N. P. D. In addition, it’s a narcotic where, as proven here, 2-dimensional validation will never solve the...Read full review »

I remeber the time i heard about J.K. Rowling being cancelled for her tweets. I missed it for months and later I just felt like that’s the place where all my lgbtq+ community was. Enjoying the pacing and the depth of research of this podcast. Aspirationally it is the best of what we want in society - nuance, embracing different perspectives and actually listening to one another. That said, despite this, I still feel Rowling has been bigoted over the last few years and...Read full review »
