Had High Hopes
I’m guessing the majority of people who would subscribe to this are already fans of Stevie Wonder. I certainly am and when I heard this would be a deep dive into this prolific period of his incredible career, I was eager to listen. And that’s when I learned Wesley Morris was the host and narrator of the series. Ironic that a podcast centred on the incredibly layer and wonderful songs and melodies ever recorded would be derailed by Morris’ seeming inability to tone down the “extra”. His narrative choice to continually insert himself into the story is why I could only make it through 1.5 episodes. Morris is no doubt a great writer but his voice rings out like nails on a chalkboard.
