Way too many ads, some in bad taste
Almost more time is devoted to advertisements than to the actual podcast. There are so many commerial breaks that there is really no narrative structure to speak of. As an endeavor, the podcast is cheaply, graspingingly avaricious. Especially when you are doing a true crime podcast, you don't want to appear to be capitalizing callously on the misfortune of murder victims. The shameless insertion of advertisements definitely gives that impression. Then, there is the flippant "transition" from the podcast to an Audible.com ad, in which someone was murdered in the summer and then the host chimes in "What are you doing this summer? Why not join Audible take an audiobook to the beach?" Trashy.Read full review »

I’m a big fan of Wondery podcasts in general, and absolutely love “Hollywood and Crime.” This one is no exception! My only complaint is that this one jumps around a little too much in time and can get confusing.
