Not garbage.
During my weekly visit to technical services in the library where I work I was devestated to learn that the stupid branch had been "testing their wifi" and accidentally put a block on downloading. I couldn't download an audiobook! And I couldn't listen to music because that seemed like way too much fun at work. I decided that I should finally use that podcast button on my iPhone and maybe listen to Serial again or something because I was not aware that any other podcast existed. I opened up my phone and "What's this?! I apparently subscribed to a podcast called Worst Bestsellers at some point in time. Oh, that's right, I vaguely remember listening to the Twilight episode. Well, this seems legit and I can stream it, so here we go." I listened to three different episodes that day. I was trying to contain my laughter, and at one point the manager came over to make sure I was okay because apparently I looked like I was having some sort of fit and convulsing. "No, sir, I was just trying not to crack up in the middle of this very quiet workspace." Seriously, if you love snark and defending things that are terrible even though you don't like them then this definitely is for you. It is not at all garbage and if it doesn't make you laugh then you are a monster. I am pretty sure that these podcasts are way more fun than listening to music, but I justify it because it is literary. Right? Right.Read full review »

I have this weird compulsion to finish things, even if I think it's bad or have no interest (books, movies, i will read a magazine cover to cover.) So I kept listening. And there were moments of...Read full review »

Nah. These ladies have hilarious and smart commentary on books you just don't feel like reading but want to know everything about. Strong feminist/queer perspectives with genuine exploration of these books' appeal... And sometimes they end up not hating what they read!Read full review »
