Even non-writers like it!
I thought perhaps this podcast was only relevant to aspiring television writers, but during a recent carpool an actor friend was listening with me and he found it just as fascinating (and hilarious) as I do. He even asked if there was more. You'll learn so much about the TV writing industry that you'll need to buy your brain an external hard drive, and then you will puzzle over how exactly to hook it into your head, but you will have it and it will work somehow. And you'll know all the things. ALL of them. In all seriousness, if you have even an inkling that you'd like to write for TV, you need this podcast. I studied theatre and playwriting, and only recently considered TV. On listening to this podcast, I've heard writers say a lot of things that I've always thought that have put me at odds with fellow playwrights. That's one of many reasons it's so great to hear these writers talk about their experiences. They're all charming and clever, so it's no wonder they've made excellent television. If nothing else, you'll get some great recommendations on what to watch next. Just make sure you're caught up on any shows you plan to watch that these writers have worked on. I had Breaking Bad spoiled pretty hard. (My fault for being behind, but still.) Why are you still reading my crappy review? Go download this not-crappy podcast. Go. Go now. I mean it. Why are you still here? You're wasting time.Read full review »

More reviews of The Writers Panel
One of the few podcasts I listen to on a regular basis. Includes writers for a wide range of backgrounds and fascinating tales of their experiences in the business of writing for television. Very well moderated. Makes me want to try my hand at writing! :) @BenBlacker Keep it up!

I really enjoyed this podcast. I always have been someone who wants/likes to see how the sausage is made. I would love to listen to any further panels that may be available. My only quibble would be that there were maybe one or two too many panelists. Only because having fewer people would...Read full review »
