“When I first started listening to this podcast, I was a bit thrown off by Preston’s casual and unrehearsed approach. Where many theologically based podcast hosts are clearly reading from a prepared monologue or pre-planned interview questions, with Preston you get the impression that you are over-hearing a very real, unrehearsed , truly “raw” conversation or thought process. I often feel like I am thinking through a topic alongside Preston as he deconstructs topics and interviews experts. He always asks honest and vulnerable questions in his interviews and consistently asks “those” questions that everyone is wondering about but no one wants to ask out loud. He doesn’t only elevate the voices of white evangelical leaders, but instead goes out of his way to bring on experts, thinkers, and leaders across many different Christian denominations, backgrounds, and organizations. He is always culturally relevant and is quick to jump into controversial “hot” topics of today’s culture. For example, where many white evangelical leaders were silent in their response to the BLM movement and the protests about George Floyd and Briona Taylor, Preston quickly responded- not with his own opinions about racism as a white man, but instead by elevating the voice of a black Christian leader- Tyler Burns. From gender and sexuality to women in ministry to young vs. old earth theories, Preston truly covers it all. I highly recommend this podcast for every believer who’s interested in diving deep, challenging stereotypes and assumptions, and gaining a deeper understanding of Christian theology and any non-believer who’s interested in deconstructing toxic Christianity and separating the teachings of the Bible from American culture. Thanks for all you do Preston!”
