“I am a trainee person centred psychotherapist and listen to this podcast every week. I find it really helpful, I love the conversations about process which happen between the therapists after each show and I appreciate being able to listen to ‘real’ therapeutic sessions. However, I do find myself fatigued by the lack of diversity in the guests who are selected. Often white, more often than not incredibly privileged and/or wealthy and/or ‘posh’. While it’s important to acknowledge the universality of the struggles in being human, I do think that there is distancing and a lack of real connection with the material when the only people we’re listening to are from a very specific social strata. Intersectionality should be at the heart of this work.”
