“This is a great podcast performed in a style of a casual scientific discussion which could take place in any university cafeteria or at any scientific conference, as well. Three people, Prof. Racaniello, Prof. Despommier (both at Columbia Univ. NYC) and Dr. Dove discuss recent events in virology. It's highly informative and fun, too, because they do a good job to mix it up with jokes :-) They particularly succeed in addressing a wide audience by explaining difficult subjects in a way everybody can understand them, without oversimplyfication. They always have guests on the show as well.
I highly recommend this show for everybody interested in the science of infectious diseases. Being a virologist myself I also strongly recommend it to students of that subject (undergrad to PhD) and fellow virologists, as well. It's always refreshing and inspiring to listen and join a discussion on a particular subject. The latter is possible here, because the hosts do a wonderful job in responding to every email they receive from the audience. And for those who want to explore a certain topic from the show, the podcast's website contains numerous show notes with links to papers, websites and book recommendations.
Best podcast ot there, in my opinion.”Read full review »

I love the review of recent news stories, literature and outbreaks, as well as their answering email. Of course the guests are great as well. While I'm a research scientist...”Read full review »
