In epsideo 614, Speaking to Peter Daszek in Nov 2019 Peter says "coronaviruses are pretty good... you can manipulate them in the lab pretty easily... the spiked drives a lot about what happens. you can get the sequence you can build the protein, we work with Ralph Barrack at UNC to do this, insert into the back bone of another virus and do some work in a lab."
