“I wasn't sure what to make of this at the beginning. A Christian friend had challenged me to read the bible and whilst I managed to read the gospels OK, the "begats" a little way into Genesis constantly put me to sleep. Try as I might, I could not get past this without falling into a trance and giving up.
Because I listen to many atheist and sceptical podcasts and find the medium easy to use in my day to day life, I thought maybe there are some podcasts who read the text to you. Tried that; boring as hell. It is nearly always a true believer, reading the text without any real honesty, criticism or scepticism
Finally, I discovered Thomas. His witty asides and sceptical commentary enliven even the dullest "begats" and "ye shall..." I look forward to each episode and really hope that even those familiar with the text (whether sceptics or true believers) listen and get something out of it.
I hope he continues right through to the end.”

“This is one of the greatest podcasts. I have read a good portion of the bible; but it is really hard to get through. Thomas makes it much more enjoyable.”
