Golden nuggets!
Aside from generating your curiosity on a wide range of events & issues, this podcast does a great job of filling in the broader context too & then adds in these great nuggets of information! Today’s was about the statue of Erin in College Green above Abercrombie & Fitch which is directly facing down the Royal cost of arms on the Bank of Ireland (from its parliamentary days) & her sculptor was Padraic Pearse’s father!

....You don’t! Listen to this and you will. Not the usual stories you grew up on. The other stories that happened in the streets we walk through every day. Top drawer stuff.

Dónal takes great pride in where he comes from but most of all the stories of his fellow dubs. The enthusiasm with which the stories are presented is fantastic. I’m not a dub myself, but this is my new favourite history podcast. No Pasarán!
