Gauteng finance and economic development MEC Lebogang Maile says officials will have to work within the 21 days granted by the president to help spaza shops with registration. The duo are on trial with three other accused for the murder Meyiwa in Vosloorus in 2014.

Health minister Aaron Motsoaledi confirmed a toxicology report has revealed the organophosphate Terbufos caused the deaths of six children in Naledi, Soweto, earlier this month.  Motsoaledi, other ministers led by the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NatJoints), held a media briefing on Monday as part of government’s response to recent incidents of food poisoning in the country.

Police say more arrests in the mass murder of 18 people in Lusikisiki last month are imminent as they continue to search for more suspects and, ultimately, the mastermind behind the tragedy. Currently five men have been arrested in connection with the murders.
