Edit: it’s been a while that it became less about real world economy and more about hedge fund dudes and stock market. Revising my review. ——————————— It’s a fun and interesting podcast, hope it lasts. The only thing I don’t like is the “hedge fund guy” that makes me wanna puke every time he...Read full review »

Love the podcast. Prefer it on Monday!!!

Informative but demotivating for a first time buyer. Was looking for more data constructive conversation as mentioned at the start of the podcast but led to how bad the market is and probably no light at the end of tunnel.

This podcast has helped me to understand so much more about money and the economy. I look forward to this podcast every single week. If you’re just starting out, it’s worth it to listen from beginning to end. Although the companies they’ll be speaking about might be out of the news there are...Read full review »

I was hoping it would be more content heavy, but nobody really seems to have any depth. I was hoping it would be entertaining but it’s dull.

Love it!

I enjoyed the show very much and would recommend it to others. However, two things about the show really bug me, and I truly hope they can change it: - Calling someone “professor of TikTok”, sorry it’s just too much cringe. - The vocal fry.

The 1st episode that I listened to is the one discussed about CAT and Temu. I just wanted to suggest all of your hosts to do more research before you giving your judgement. This world is way bigger than you could imagine. Temu not only is successful in Canada but also in US and Europe. The reason...Read full review »

Informative and funny. I appreciate the knowledge across US/CAN borders and cultural references. Their newsletter is witty and well written too.

The content is interesting and I like the tone. But I can’t stand the hosts with vocal fry, big turn off.

Great show! Digestible financial content!

Finance can be tedious and overwhelming. This crew makes it bite sized fun, like a Dorito.

If there’s one thing that’s difficult to make entertaining, it’s talking about finances. I have been using WealthSimple for a few years, but I am horrible at math, budgeting, accounting, etc. because I find it painfully boring. By some miracle this podcast is consistently really, really...Read full review »

This has quickly become a must listen info-tainment podcast for me. Come for the entertaining and topical banter and stay for the micro- and macro-economics lessons!

Against all odds, my favourite podcast is about investing. They do an incredible job talking about the market, making it entertaining, and the production quality is spot on. Nice work!

Educational and fun finance!

I have no idea what this podcast is trying to achieve, but the personal finance and investing substance is absolutely lacking. 2 stars is generous.
MylesOC via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 01/08/24
The show is very gossipy and “in-crowd” for the financial journalism set. I would appreciate more actionable advice.
Catsisav via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 01/04/24
Love this podcast! I’m an avid litsener. But you know it’s a very white POV when they categorize The Glory under “trash TV” with all the other top shows in the latest Netflix epi 😂

It’s a fun and interesting podcast, hope it lasts. The only thing I don’t like is the “hedge fund guy” that makes me wanna puke every time he emits an opinion… but, well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m a busy mom with a high stress job and never could get around to reading the newsletter. I love this podcast and wish it was done twice weekly (or more…). It’s informative, easy to understand and fun.

It’s like the Canadian version of Planet Money 🥹.

I love the TLDR newsletter. It’s perfect. The podcast is just as good. The hosts are relatable and smart, and make me smarter.

This show has a very late Millenial/early Gen-Z feel that is completely deprived of masculine appeal or deep economic analysis. It’s very Gynocentric, trendy, aloof, and topographical.

Really enjoyed the TLDR newsletter and finding the podcast even easier to get through while walking the dog. I’d describe the pod as “Sneakily informative”. Really enjoy the concise and easy to understand explanations of market trends, and I appreciate the summary at the end of the show. Not a...Read full review »

I’m curious to see how this podcast and the hosts find their voices. I think there is a lot of potential with TLDR, I love the newsletter. Will give it a few more tries.

Funny, informative, jokes about boomers - it’s got it all.

This podcast sounds like it is geared towards 20 somethings because of the topics and the annoying valley girl accents.

What is up with the bizarre uninformed anti-monarchy rant? If this is an indicator of what this podcast will be then I’m not interested.

Love it, casual investor and love reading the tldr each week. Now it’s a podcast!

Even if Taylor Swift generated USD 20 billion in GDP, it would not “save us from a recession” - In 2022, GDP of Canada amounted to about USD 2.14 trillion and GDP of the United States amounted to about USD 25.46 trillion. I’m with Matthew on his assessment. Btw, I agree that Charles III in full...Read full review »
