E108 - Farm-to-Table Venezuelan Food with Mercedes Golip
Listen now
Description
This week I'm talking with Food Creative Mercedes Golip about her passion for farm-to-table Venezuelan food. We get into how the pandemic led her to pivot from hosting pop-up dinners in NYC to buying a farmhouse in the western Catskills. We talk about the importance of our own food history and how she enjoys the challenge of using locally grown products to re-create the flavors of her childhood. The meal plan in this episode is inspired by family recipes that I grew up cooking and eating. English Prawn Cocktail makes for a nostalgic British meal and Perfectly Cooked Pork Chops with Creamy Mushroom Gravy is a childhood favorite from my Ukrainian heritage. Head over to COOKtheSTORY.com/MealPlans to get the meal plan with links to recipes, and the grocery list worksheet that goes with it. This one is Meal Plan #108.
