The topic is interesting but the podcast was drawn out when it could have been 4 good episodes, each episode has 5 minutes of commercials too. Amateur reporting and podcast.

Literally just listened to all 12 episodes plus 3 bonuses and the Mathew episode back to back consecutively in under 13 hours!!!! Sitting here sick and quarantined thankful for this distraction and tired of the police inability or lack of care for the people they are charged with protecting or...Read full review »

Of all the series I have listened to, this is my Favorite True crime podcast. It is truly unbelievable! Also, are you still planning on releasing the curious case of Matthew Weaver?

Stop what you’re doing and listen to this podcast. You will not be sorry. Really enjoyed this host. Eagerly waiting for the next story, Neil.

You know it’s a great podcast when it’s coming to an end, and you are sooo sad it’s over. It was great investigating and information giving. I also loved that this was done during the events happening not months and years after. Great job!

This is really well done. I found no problems with the voice of the host, as described by the last review said 🤷🏻‍♂️. Great story

Absolutely the the best full series investigation podcast I have ever listened to. Can I add another star?

Neil Strauss’ voice and cadence is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I’m halfway through the podcast but I think I have to give up listening it is because it’s so cringey. Maybe he ought to stick to print.

This is a great podcast. I couldn’t stop listening. It’s well narrated. I like the reality that you hear reactions from presenters as they happen. Great theme tune. Sad, sad story.

I have never rated a podcast before because I have never binged one as hard as I’ve binged this one. Every episode was a nail biter and thrilling to say the least. Impeccably done and worth the listen.

The story is interesting but the ads are very annoying as they are frequent and long. Like a quarter of the episode is the same ad. The episodes repeat a lot of info from previous episodes. Don’t listen to the boo boy reviews. This is one, if not the best podcasts I’ve listened to. Completed it on the same day it was recommended.

This podcast is what reporting should look like. It’s thoughtful, honest and raw. I really appreciate how the host is truly empathetic where he can be. This is the kind of podcast I am here for 👏

Wow, this podcast is amazing, I have binge listened to it. They are so thorough and there’s no narrative “padding” . The work and hours they have put into this is fantastic. This is the best investigative podcast I have listened to. LISTEN TO THIS !!!!!!!

Oh my goodness, I am just stunned. Stunned! Incredibly detailed twists and turns, Neil takes us from every end of the spectrum, raises such raw emotions for each individual involved. I am still in amazement. It was so good. Please Neil, put out out more!!!

I thought this podcast was one of the best I’ve listened to! Before I had listened I had read some negative comments about live & die which in the end did not carry any substance. Live & die in LA was exciting, thought provoking & very well done!

Wow. Really excellent reporting and investigating!!!

I wanted to love this, but it got cheesier and cheesier as the episodes progressed. I felt like I was listening to daytime soap drama, not journalism.
ttedd999 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/20/20
The story is really compelling but my God the ads are distracting. There are too many for a 30 minute episode and takes away from the content.

So many ads and extremely redundant; about five minutes of relevant information each episode.

I Binge listened to this compelling podcast during a 5 hour drive to Phoenix. It was EXCELLENT reporting. Very sad story of Adea but this story needed to be told. I felt that Neal was very respectful to Adeas mom as well as to the other people involved in this story. I look forward to more...Read full review »

Agree with many of the negative points here: Morally dubious journalism, getting involved with an active investigation, phoning up grieving people and airing the conversation, wild speculation etc etc. Ridiculous quantity of ads and recaps. 8 minutes in to an episode and only then getting to...Read full review »

The content is absolutely amazing. I get that the show receives funding from putting ads in the episodes, but don’t make us “pay” for it. I skip past them but it is extremely inconvenient to do so and creates a hazard when I listen while driving.
Mack__Attack93 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/13/20
Felt very exploitative and insensitive at times. The presenter seemed more concerned with how he came across, rather than what the actual people concerned might be going through. Also, WAY too many ads - almost 10 mins of ads per episode.
chanmo234 via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 02/12/20
The way this entire podcast is put together and the timeline of the entire investigation is gripping with twists and turns that kept me hooked. Binge worthy and I’m so sad I’m at the end. Congrats on everything everyone did amazing work.

Great podcast! Twists and turns had me second guessing a few times. Suspenseful, thrilling, sad and confronting. Definitely feel for all families involved. Thank you for your great professionalism but also for showing compassion when needed!!

My family and I listened to the entire series 06 02 2020 during an electricity black out. Fantastic!! Loved it kept us entertained, we didn’t even notice when the electricity went back on.
Andy-Lou234 via Apple Podcasts · South Africa · 02/07/20
I love this ads podcast. I don’t get why they keep interrupting the ads with a crime story, though...
CaptainChaz via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/04/20
The podcast has decent enough content but with such a completely disproportionate amount of advertising that I can’t help feeling the point her is to shill off the back of this girls disappearance.
NorthBank via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/04/20
This is a very sad and twisted story. I think it’s sad though how invasive the creators were with relatives of the suspect. A suspects family member has to deal with their own pain, feelings of guilt, shame, loss, grief and unanswered questions. The way the creators over and over questioned...Read full review »

This is probably the most well done podcast I’ve ever listened to. And trust me, I am a crime junkie so I listen to all of them. Real emotion and it feels like you’re truly in this to help people. Great job!!!!! I think you may have been born for this!
