Excellent story, awful sound quality
Very engrossing and all the tight knit Texas town local color I could hope for. But good lord, this is a high profile magazine—couldn’t they afford a decent interview mic for the reporter? Some of the interviews sound like they were recorded with a wobbly reel-to-reel at the bottom of an abandoned well.

Amazing start! Great narration: voice, cadence, tone, all of it works. It is a somber and sad story, and The narrator seems aware of its gravity! Great job. Prayers for Tom’s family. It’s gotta be heartbreaking.
