Tore off the veil
This podcast is thinly-veiled Critical Race Theory, without the veil. Why, in such a time of unease and upheaval, must two ladies “irreverently tear down” classic movies, off their “lofty pedestals”? Why not instead, ladies, use your researching skills and inquisitive natures to discover and shine spotlights on brave, counter-cultural figures, living lifestyles that were before their time, and frowned upon or tucked away into corners by history? Find things to praise, which have not gotten their due credit, rather than tearing down, and being critical of, things which many people hold dear. Do they need to be mocked and shamed in the modern day, just because they’re “old” now? Some of us see this podcast for what it is, and are entitled to not liking it, and are free to say so. A podcast praising past, hidden figures though, would interest many many people, I’m sure, whilst not damaging history in the process.
