Highly recommended for both GMs and players!
I came into Total Party Thrill as a new D&D DM, looking for inspiration and tricks to take to my game sessions, and I-Hsien and Shane have absolutely delivered. The stories, tips, and insight they provide are fantastic; they're always knowledgable and passionate about the topics at play while presenting shows in a manner that is both conversational and informative. They have a fantastic co-host balance and energy, making this a great podcast to listen to whether I'm at home or on the go. The production values are top-notch, and a lot of love is clearly put into the recording quality and seamless editing of each episode. They also are extremely regular about the release of their shows and the structures within them, from the cold opens to the next episode previews. It is a great joy to have a D&D podcast that is very thoughtfully planned and delivered while maintaining the vibe of an informal (but informative) friendly discussion. As a relatively new DM, not every episode topic applies directly to me, and much of the character creation forge tends to be over my head - that said, these shows are presented in such an accessible way I have to imagine they'd be worthwhile for both new folks and veterans alike. My favorite moments involve discussions of individual ideas and mechanics - like "flashback chips," villain creation, or prompts to have your players reveal their backstories during long commutes - things that I can easily drop into my upcoming game sessions. The timelessness of the content also makes it easy for anyone to pick up from the beginning, with a strong collection of episodes to work through. Total Party Thrill is a fantastic podcast in every possible way, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for conversations or ideas to enhance their own game nights.Read full review »

I've been playing RPGs since the original D&D red box set, and I've been looking for a podcast like this for quite some time. Most of the podcasts I find on the topic are live play podcasts. Personally, I would rather listen to interesting discussions about the games we all love...Read full review »

This podcast is a great resource for any GM or player out there, no matter what game you play. It got me writing an Eberron campaign in no time. Great work!
